by Steven Jakobs (Letter to the Editor Blog) Boulder Daily Camera March 27, 2008 “Uranium mine would tap aquifer” was unbiased and informatively written. This is another case where nuclear and fossil fuel natural resources should be left where nature put them. When man attempts to disturb nature and remove non sustainable resources for profit, there are dire consequences. This is a "lose-lose" proposition for Powertech. As a nuclear engineer with over 40 years experience told me, “It is better to use the nuclear power available from the sun than to reproduce nuclear reactions here on earth for our power”. We are left with a dangerous use of nuclear material on earth, to destroy all mankind. Colorado should not contribute to that. I urge everybody, no matter where they live, to let your representatives know they prefer sustainable energy like wind and solar over taking limited natural resources from the earth.
