Protect us from mining |
|

by Robin Davis Fort Collins Coloradoan (Letter to the Editor) November 28, 2007 After extensive research, the Colorado Medical Society came to the same conclusion as we have. Uranium mining is not safe. The Colorado Medical Society has adopted a resolution that states just this. Please see the Northern Colorado Business Report announcement of Nov. 19. I call on all elected officials to do whatever they can to help protect the public. We rely on you to keep us safe and help us maintain our quality of life. All town councils can adopt a resolution declaring that uranium mining does not fit within their master plan. All county commissioners could do the same. Our state representatives can adopt legislation that will upgrade regulations to truly enforce clean water, clean air and sustainable living. State legislators, please vote for the bill sponsored by Rep. Randy Fischer and Rep. John Kefalas with Sen. Steve Johnson and Sen. Brandon Shaffer. Please visit www.nunnglow.com and check out the facts. Also visit www.powertechuranium.com to see that we use the same facts as they do. The facts just don't lie.
