Denver Post Supports HB 1161 Print E-mail

In an editorial published on Thursday, March 20, 2008, the Denver Post announced its support for HB 1161. This bill will help protect groundwater quality by requiring that mining companies prove that they can restore affected aquifers to their pre-mining conditions before they are granted mining permits. Most importantly for northern Colorado, HB 1161 would provide protection for ground water impacted by in-situ leach uranium mines.
