Coloradoan Urges Passage of HB 1161

Noting that Colorado lawmakers appear to have been listening to residents' concerns as the prospect of renewed uranium mining becomes more real in the state, the Fort Collins Coloradoan, in an editorial published on Monday, March 31, 2008, urges the senate to pass and Governor Ritter to sign HB 1161. The Coloradoan also commends local state Reps. Randy Fischer, D-Fort Collins; John Kefalas, D-Fort Collins; and Sen. Steve Johnson, R-Fort Collins, for listening to their constituents' concerns and crafting legislation that will provide more environmental and public health protection in light of increased uranium mining activity.
