County Commissioner Randy Eubanks will ask fellow commissioners Kathy Rennels and Glenn Gibson on Tuesday to allow a January hearing on Powertech’s proposal to mine uranium near Nunn.
Eubanks will make his request during the commis-sioner’s meeting beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the commissioners’ conference room, second floor, Courthouse Offices Building, 200 W. Oak St.
If approved, the public comment will likely occur in January.
Powertech is doing explora-tory drilled near Nunn and has requested permission for uranium in-situ and open pit mining.
