Area would cut its own throat by approving uranium mine Print

By Rick Shory (Letter to the Editor)
The Greeley Tribune
January 5, 2008

I am amazed what Colorado will do to cut its own economic throat. A uranium mine in the Front Range would be the kiss of death. Do you think businesses looking for new locations will consider an area they perceive as having the dirtiest of dirty of mining operations going on? Would you? Do you think parents will let their kids go to Colorado State University, University of Northern Colorado or Colorado University, when they have hundreds of other contenders to pick from? Would you?

Powertech is lying. You can see that if you have the least business sense. They're profiteers who bend the truth as they need to get the mines permitted. They will then leave a legacy of cancer, birth defects, destroyed land and toxic waste. Has there ever been a uranium operation that cleaned up after itself?
